It doesn’t seem more than a few months ago since I wrote about hitting 75 and now suddenly I’m 76.
Four years off 80. Sobering thought.
There is of course the obvious realisation that time is limited which is why my travel plans have gone off the scale…
There have also been a couple of big changes. One you’ve heard about - resigning from the Guardian - although I can’t say that has led to any recognisable form of retirement 😉
Another you haven’t and I need to ‘fess up.
(You might wonder why I write these highly personal posts - I sometimes do myself.
But there’s such a stigma around age that I want to underline that life isn’t over at 70 or even 60.
And that you’re more than someone’s elderly parent or granny - and, let’s face it, 76 is elderly. It will come as no surprise to my fellow septuagenarians that I don’t feel 76 in my head.)
However, even I don’t want to put all this out for the whole world to read so if you want to find out a bit more about ageing positively - and all the other subscriber benefits I’m afraid you’ll have to sign up.
You can do that for as little as £5 ($6.6) though there is a celebratory 76th birthday discount of 38%, (i.e. half my age) on annual subscriptions until the end of the month which brings the cost down to just £2.17 ($2.86) a month!
To get the discount use this link rather than the one a couple of lines down.
So. The other big change ….
