Hi Fi. Love the weekly posts. Took the plunge on the back of your article and bought a bottle of the St John Déclassifié Pauillac 2018. What’s your view on drinking window.

Thanks

Paul

Well it might be regarded as heretical but I'd be prepared to drink it any time this year though it would obviously last for 4-5 more at the very least. Depends a bit how you like your wines and your general attitude to your wine rack (see tomorrow's post, coincidentally!) I've regretted more the wines I've kept too long than those I've drunk too soon!

Hi Fi - sorry - not necessarily related to the newsletter but where are your favourite all day lunch spots in Bristol? I'm coming over Friday to see the Miner's Strike Exhibition at the Martin Parr and then another one in Redland. I can't find a decent way of searching past posts ... sorry.

Cheers. Chris

I should go to that myself! Not sure about hours but I really like Marmo which is in the centre or if you're heading up towards Redland there's Little Hollows (casual pasta joint) in Chandos Road and or Bravas (good tapas bar) on Cotham Hill

Just to say, loved Bravas - food was delicious and we indulged with a bottle of very good Rioja. Thank you for the tip. Have fun in Valencia

Brilliant. Thank you Fi. Suspect it will be Tapas ... Looking forward to the Miners Strike show - very much part of my radical youth - the other one is a bit more whimsical: https://serchiagallery.square.site/current

March the 19th works for me Fi 👍

Liked your Guardian Friday piece. And the lentil and chorizo soup recipe is intriguing - might try that… have a good week 😃
