The Friday 5 #134
Top wine bargains from Tesco, a dream destination in Devon and celebrate the 3rd anniversary of my Substack with 50% off a sub.
When the weather is as good as it has been over the past couple of days in the UK it’s hard to think of a better place to be, especially in the idyllic countryside of Devon and Sussex.
This week’s Friday 5 shares two places I’d go back to in a heartbeat. Come to that two places I’ve been before and loved. One of them the location of the some of the best roast chicken I’ve ever eaten.
Less sybaritically I’ve been at two whopper wine tastings and bring you my initial selection of the wines that are now available from Tesco including some suggestions for our forthcoming grenache tasting at 6.30pm on Monday. There are some really good bargains below.
After our discussion about bread knives last week I remembered another kitchen gadget which would have to be in my desert island toolkit. I wonder if you have the same one?
Still on the kimchi trail I’m astonished at the number of ways you can incorporate it into more familiar foods, my latest being kimchi baked potatoes.
And last but not least next week marks the third anniversary of my Substack and to mark it there’s a bumper 50% discount on annual subs which will last right through until the evening of April 1st.
That brings a monthly membership down to a ridiculous £1.75 a month. You’d save that on one of my wine recommendations alone plus here are all the other subscriber benefits.
There won’t be another offer like this this year so take advantage!
