Win a case of one of the world’s first 2023 rosés
Your monthly newsletter about my website matchingfoodandwine.com with news of our latest comp and the summer recipe ideas and food and wine pairing tips you need to have at your fingertips
It was so good to see some of you on Zoom at this month’s tasting of Portuguese wine this week. It’s the third one I’ve held - the others being themed around pinot noir and Greek whites and has begun, as I’d hoped, to feel like sitting round with a group of friends in a wine bar.
Along with the Friday 5, my weekly round-up of wine tips, recipes and restaurant recommendations, it’s one of the perks of being a paid subscriber.
Next month’s online tasting, which will be at 6pm on Monday 17th July, will be themed around rosé, so do sign up, bring along a bottle and join us (which you can do for as little as £4.50 a month. Cheaper than a wine course 😉)
Win a case of gorgeous Babylonstoren rosé
I’m guessing you’re all drinking rosé right now but I don’t imagine many of you have got your hands on a bottle made in 2023 yet. But this month’s competition - an opportunity to win a case of six from South African producer Babylonstoren - is your chance.
It’s made from mourvèdre, a grape variety with a distinctively floral aroma that’s widely used in Provence and elsewhere in southern France which made it the perfect choice for this year’s Chelsea Flower Show at which it was the official rosé
The 2023 vintage is made in the classic dry Provençal style with a delicately fruity flavour of strawberries and cream.
it is available to order directly via Babylonstoren’s sister estate, The Newt in Somerset, with free delivery from shop.thenewtinsomerset.com.
The closing date for the competition is 11.59pm GMT on June 30th 2023 and you must live in the UK and be over 18 to enter. For other Ts & Cs and to find out how to enter click here.
