You might well wonder what is happening to the wine component of Eat This, Drink That. The answer is that the year’s wine tastings haven’t really got off the ground yet - or at least not the ones which throw up the bargains.
And it’s that weird period between Valentine’s Day - who wants to buy pink fizz now? - and Mother’s Day and Easter which, as I’m sure you know, is unusually early this year. It’s the wine world’s equivalent of the hungry gap.
