I was a bit miffed to have missed out on Burns Night last night. It’s one of my favourite annual celebrations - I’m one of those rare people who actually likes haggis - but as I’m off to Spain for 2 weeks and am also one of those people who leave packing until the very last minute I thought I’d better be sensible for once.
As I may have mentioned, the purpose of the trip is to improve my Spanish which is still lamentably bad after learning it for 4 years. Admittedly mainly on Duolingo which takes you only so far.
Anyway I’ve enrolled on an intensive Spanish course in Valencia and am hoping to actually be able to hold a conversation by the end of it without having to consult Google Translate. I will be posting updates and reflections on language learnin as I go but in the meantime here are my tips from this week.
