The Friday 5 #74 (Greetings from Trondheim!)
A dozen or so of the best wine buys from Tesco, some excellent meatballs
As you read this I will be among a group of 250 international judges in Trondheim in Norway assessing over 4500 cheeses for the World Cheese Awards. Fortunately I don’t have to taste all 4500. I’ll be assigned a selection which may range from cheese spreads to superb cave-aged Gruyère.
Anyway I’m sending this slightly earlier in the day so you can watch the proceedings this afternoon - should you be so minded - on World Cheese TV. May be a bit like watching paint dry if you’re a non-participant but less stressful than the news at the moment.
Meanwhile my supermarket wine round-ups continue apace with a selection from Tesco which apparently accounts for about a quarter of all the wine that’s bought in the UK. Sobering thought.
(If you like to support the Indies read my piece in the Guardian last weekend.)
