The Friday 5 #132
A mini guide to eating in Bath, this month’s cookbook giveaway. easy Kimchi fried rice and the Waitrose wine picks you need this weekend
It’s been a bit of a West Country week this week. Not Bristol for once but Bath, the wonderfully old fashioned resort of Clevedon (do visit the rather wonderful pier below) and a spectacular fine dining restaurant deep in the Somerset countryside.
I suspect at least as many of you go to Bath as Bristol so I’ve shared a few of my favourite places to eat and drink there.
I guess if I had been able to travel further afield I would have done. I know, I know, I’ve just got back from Morocco but I’m scratching that itch by travelling virtually through food, taking a deep dive into all things Korean.
There will be a post dedicated to the fruits of that research at the end of the month but in the meantime here’s some kimchi fried rice and a couple of tips to keep you going.
For those of you who love a wine bargain, Waitrose has 25% off any six bottles over £6 at the moment which you might want to take advantage of to stock up for spring. (What spring you might ask? I gather there were snow flurries in Cheltenham earlier today but still. We’re moving in a generally springlike direction.)
And last but not least, here’s this month’s cookbook giveaway: Roopa Gulati’s fabulous new book Indian Kitchens which I personally can’t WAIT to cook from, always having found her recipes quite wonderful and totally reliable.
You need to sign up to be eligible for the draw - it’s a perk of paid membership - but there are 3 copies to be won so you’re in with a good chance.
Plus there are all the other benefits of subscribing … My wine recommendations will save you money for a start 😉
