The Friday 5 #130
4 lush chardonnays, the latest bargains from Lidl, two hot London restaurants and why you need a pot of cream in the fridge.
The release of the new Bridget Jones film has inevitably resulted in a flurry of articles about chardonnay and whether it’s still naff or not. (Absolutely isn’t. Never was.)
I’d been thinking I’d recommend some myself and realised how few there were at the recent tastings I’ve been to but I’ve picked out four I think you should enjoy.
Chardonnay lovers fall into two camps: lovers of big buttery chardonnays - most inexpensive Australian and Californian chardonnays fall into this category - and fans of the more austere style represented by Chablis and other cool climate growing regions. I’ve listed a couple of both.
