Last minute inspo for Father's Day, my dream house (and garden) and a restaurant you must go to if you're into oysters
So my plan this week was to do another postcard from Italy, eulogising, I imagined, about the fantastic food and wine I was having in the Veneto but while the wine was fine, the food was - with a couple of exceptions - nothing to write home about. Extraordinary for Italy.
So it’s a conventional Friday 5 with a few last minute wine - and whisky - bargains for Father’s Day, a great new - or new to me - fish restaurant I’ve discovered in London and a stunning house and garden in Sussex which I’d been meaning to go to for years.
Oh and a reminder that to celebrate English Wine Week we’re talking about English wine at this month’s ‘bring a bottle’ tasting which will take place at 6.30pm BST on Monday evening (17th). Hopefully one of my English winemaker friends will be on hand to answer your questions.
